Fifteen thousand of its finest  spanish troops troops, commanded by Teniente General Marquis de la Romana had been lent to Napoleon in 1807 and remained stationed in Denmark  to support the French,  since they mutinied in Denmark, were rescued by the British, and fought in the Peninsular War.

As they marched through Hamburg on their way to Denmark, they were illustrated by the Suhr brothers, and it is quite clear from their drawings that there were a mixture of the older blue and current white uniforms.

The plates are from a private collection and painted by José María Bueno, they are first published since 1978, when they were painted.

The Catalonian light troops have the new uniform, equipped at french service.

Qunicemil de las mejores tropas españolas, mandadas por el Teniente General Marqués de La Roman se cedierona a Napoleón en 1807 y tras cruzar Europa, permanecieron estacionadas en Dinamarca, hasta que se rebelaron y se fugarón con la ayuda de los británicos, volvieron a España y lucharon en la Guerra de la Independencia.

Al pasar por Hamburgo en su marcha hacia Dinamarca fueron dibujadas por los hermanos Shur, las tropas marchaban con una mezcla de uniformes de dos ordenanzas, azules y blancos.

Las láminas son de una colección privada pintadas por José María Bueno y son la priemera vez que se publican desde 1978 en que se pintaron.

Las tropas ligeras de cataluña llevan el nuevo uniforme que se les proporcionó al servicio de los franceses.
